I've always looked at life differently than most
My life has rarely followed the typical path many follow. I was told by a teacher in high school that I ask a lot of questions and I have a thirst for knowledge he didn't often see. I crave more. Not more money or fame, not a bigger house or fancier food - just more experiences.

The world is so big! The cultures, the landscape, the lifestyles all call to me. Each job, each person, each town, state and country have a story to tell. I just want to be a part of them. How can someone not be intrigued about the places they have never been? The people they have never met? The great unknown!

For me, reading an article or watching a documentary is not enough. My husband Alex loves these - he could do this and feel satisfied. For me, they are just a tease. Why would I want to watch another person explore the world while I sit at home?

Throughout my life, being an adventurer has been a priority. Though I traveled a lot of Eastern USA with my family growing up, it wasn't until I was a Senior in college that I saved enough to go international for the first time. Since 2008, I have made it to 36 countries (my goal is at least one for every year I am old - I'm 35!). Financially, it has not always been easy to do, nor have they been the most luxurious of trips. I have sacrificed in ways to pursue my wonders. I believe we chose how we spend time in this world, what we prioritize.

COVID has been a temporary game changer, no new countries since 2019. Like many, COVID has forced Alex and I to re-evaluate our lives. A combination of COVID effecting our social lives and most of our friends at different places than us in their lives - we noticed a rountine-ness that was unsatisfying and honestly, depressing. We spend a lot of time in our house and adventuring to the same places. Then we started to wonder what else is out there.

Then we had a realization: we don't have to wonder anymore...
